The 111th Indianapolis 500 runs on Sunday, May 30, 2027 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Indianapolis is our home market — we operate our own fleet and our own chauffeurs here year-round, which means on race weekend we are not learning the city. We are working a route we know better than the traffic app does.
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| Sonsio Grand Prix (road course) | May 14–15, 2027 |
| Carb Day | Friday, May 28, 2027 |
| Legends Day | Saturday, May 29, 2027 |
| 111th Indianapolis 500 | Sunday, May 30, 2027 |
Roughly 300,000 people attend the Indianapolis 500. For context, that is more than double the Super Bowl, arriving at one facility on one afternoon, in a residential part of Speedway with a finite number of roads leading in.
Three consequences follow, and they define how the day has to be planned.
Arrival traffic starts extraordinarily early. Gates open before dawn and the roads around the Speedway are heavily congested hours before the green flag. A pickup time that feels absurdly early is usually correct.
Road closures reshape the entire west side. 16th Street, Georgetown Road and the approaches around the oval operate under restrictions on race day. Residential streets in Speedway fill with parked cars, narrowing everything further.
Departure is the real test. A third of a million people leave within roughly an hour. Mobile networks saturate, rideshare pricing spikes and then supply vanishes, and anyone without an agreed pickup point walks a considerable distance to find their ride.
We agree your exact collection point and time before the day — a specific, findable location outside the worst of the pedestrian flow. You know where to walk before you leave for the track, so nothing depends on a phone call that may not connect.
Our Indianapolis chauffeurs work this city every day. They know which secondary routes hold up when 16th Street does not, where staging is permitted, and how the approach differs between the north and south sides of the Speedway.
For race day we generally recommend hourly hire rather than separate transfers. The vehicle stays with you, waits, and repositions as needed, instead of competing for availability on the single busiest transport day in Indiana.
Indianapolis International (IND) runs at peak volume across the weekend, and private aviation traffic at Indianapolis Executive (TYQ) and Eagle Creek is heavy. We track your flight and adjust automatically, commercial or private.
The 500 is the finish of a month-long programme, and we cover all of it:
IndyCar on the combined road course, a busy weekend in its own right.
busy but far more manageable than race day.
final practice, the Pit Stop Challenge and a concert. Attendance is large and the crowd skews young and late.
driver appearances, autograph sessions and the 500 Festival Parade downtown, which closes city-centre streets rather than those around the Speedway.
the main event.
coordinated multi-vehicle arrivals throughout the month.
the practical default. Room for six, generous luggage space for coolers and gear, and comfortable across a long day.
for two or three, where a quiet ride either side of a loud day is the point.
eight to fourteen passengers arriving together, with space to spread out.
sponsor guests, corporate hospitality and large group programmes, staged as a coordinated arrival.
When we confirm your booking we will tell you which vehicles are available for your dates, so you can choose the one you want.
Indianapolis has a fixed number of professional chauffeured vehicles, and race weekend demand exceeds it every year. Vehicles are committed months in advance.
For the 2027 race we recommend confirming by late February 2027, and considerably earlier for Sprinters, coaches and multi-vehicle programmes. Late enquiries can often only be met at a lower vehicle class, if at all.
Race morning traffic begins before sunrise. A journey that takes fifteen minutes in April takes well over an hour on race day.
Do not plan to sort it out by phone afterwards.
Leaving immediately after the checkered flag means moving with everybody. Staying an hour, or leaving a few laps early, changes the day entirely.
Heat, sudden storms and rain delays are all normal. A vehicle held at your disposal is genuine shelter if the race is stopped.
Which entrance you use determines the correct approach and drop-off.
The Speedway permits them, and they take up real space — tell us at booking so we allocate correctly.
If you are hosting clients at the 500, transportation shapes the experience as much as the suite does. We coordinate multi-vehicle arrivals so guests arrive together and depart without standing in the crowd, managed from one desk with a single point of contact. See our corporate accounts page.
The 111th Indianapolis 500 takes place on Sunday, May 30, 2027 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana. The race is traditionally held on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Carb Day falls on Friday, May 28 and Legends Day on Saturday, May 29.
We recommend confirming by late February 2027, and earlier for Sprinters, coaches and groups of ten or more. Indianapolis has a fixed number of chauffeured vehicles and race weekend commits them months ahead.
Earlier than feels reasonable. Gates open before dawn and traffic around the Speedway builds for hours before the green flag. When we confirm your booking we will give you a pickup time based on where you are staying, which gate you are using and the current year’s closures — not a generic estimate.
By agreeing the exact spot beforehand. With roughly 300,000 people leaving at once and mobile networks saturated, calling your driver often does not work. We set a specific, findable pickup point in advance and stage the vehicle nearby, so you walk to a known location rather than searching for a car.
Indianapolis International (IND) is the main commercial airport, roughly 20 minutes from the Speedway outside race traffic. Private aviation typically uses Indianapolis Executive (TYQ) or Eagle Creek. We track flights and adjust pickups automatically for both.
For race day we recommend hourly. Separate transfers work in normal conditions, but on race day a released vehicle will not easily return. Held at your disposal it waits, repositions, and gives you shelter if weather stops the race — which in Indiana in May is a genuine possibility.
Yes. We provide transportation across the whole month of May, including the Sonsio Grand Prix weekend, qualifying, Carb Day, Legends Day and the 500 Festival Parade. Multi-day bookings are coordinated by the same team with one point of contact.
Indianapolis is one of the two markets where we own and operate everything ourselves — our vehicles, our chauffeurs, our standards. There is no broker between your booking and the car that collects you. You book with us, we deliver the journey, and we invoice you directly.
